  1. Thanks Jonathan. Sorry to be a PITA but where is the common earth near the lamp unit.
  2. Thanks chaps. And whereabouts is the earth?
  3. Ah, clever! Unlike me with electrics. A wiring diagram may be lost on me unless it show exactly where the earth is! But I’ll take a look …
  4. Is the removal/installation of a brake light switch a job of moments or something to regret you started? Remove pedal box and whip it out? A friend has really dim brake lights that sometimes flicker. They are the new LED type and I’d like to try swapping his brake light switch for mine to see if it is faulty as, because it is both lights, I assume it’s either the switch or a poor earth. Does anyone know where the earth is for the brake lights? Anything else it might be? 2020 420 SV.
  5. I'd be interested to see how much you can get from your engine. I only got about 4.5-5l out of mine!
  6. Usually there is a Caterham-friendly MOT station. Where are you based?
  7. Why is that, Colin? Is it just a cosmetic thing or have you had any real benefits? I've thought about it several times but been put off by seeing how they look after several thousand miles (admittedly that car had white powdercoating). Also some stories of it being bad for the metal.

I may be wrong but I’m not sure OBDII readers can glean a whole lot of information from Caterham’s. Where do you live? Gotta be someone nearby with a cable. I’m in Surbiton in Surrey if that helps. But I’m not terribly proficient at interpreting it!

    S3 hood bag

Does anyone have an S3 roof bag that they would like to move on? I'm talking about the cylindrical bag with the "7" logo on the end. Thanks Like Comment Send
  11. Does anyone have the solution to the problem of the manual pop riveter’s “nose” being too wide to snug the rivet down into the base of the female component of a durable dot fastener base? I’ve tried a stack of tiny washer and a short length of ali tube which worked initially but then was itself squashed. Theres got to be a simple solution to this! Without buying a new tool,,,
  12. I’m quite irritatingly OCD but managed to shorten my existing S3 armrests to fit my Trackday cage in such a way that I find them acceptable. Takes about 10mins per side and uses a short length of IVA trim hammered over the trimmed end.
  13. I’m changing the gearbox oil on my 2016 Duratec engined 7 with a Mazda 5 speed gearbox but don’t have the torque value for the drain plug. Or the fill plug for that matter! And the plug comes with a silver (aluminum?) washer for which I don’t have a replacement. Can it be reused?
  14. FYI I ordered the above diff plug and it was too small for the BMW diff.
  15. No harm done, Colin. Thanks for the advice. I’ll look into the race team route. But if anyone on hear wants it…!
