  1. I sourced replacement keys from Chris at http://metrolocks.co.uk/contact-us/ Whilst the key is not commonly stocked by key cutters he found a compatible blank for the Meroni key and cut from the spare I had. Caterham wanted £30 to supply from key number. Metro were £15 which I was happy to pay. Going to Newton Equipment direct was just hair pullingly awful, being told that “spare keys aren’t a priority” and “we are short staffed”, despite boasting about how they stock keys on their website and not replying to enquiries. Utterly hopeless. Should a local key cutter offer a similar service you need the generic Silca LF30R blank. Not sure if they can cut only from key/lock code though. posted here so hopefully people searching google in future can find my solution.
  2. I had it happen, fell off in Brussels. Fitted back with. With a dab of evo stick Impact adhesive. This didn't prevent them being able to be levered off (with a little force) when I replaced the arms with wipers from carbuilder solutions, which use a 'chock' that's ribbed and a screw/bolt to wedge it onto the wiper spindle, rather than a simple press fit of the originals.
  3. Looking for a metal section of the rear lamp cluster. Old one seems rusty and recently the long bolt holding rivnut fell off one side... ***sorted from the items for sale archive***
  4. Sm25t, just bought and fitted the bulbs into 7”. Got them though Amazon for quick reliable delivery on Prime. Easy to do, bit of a pull to remove the prong fitting, but a cloth in the hand did the trick, easy to press back over the rubber water seal. As I was doing it my Seven owning neighbour popped over and told me he’d done similar on a couple of his classics... and when I said I’d take a pic of them 1/2 fitted for comparison said that his vendor had advised not to do that. Dunno why... so I didn’t take a pic. I’d love to see your picture.
  5. This thread spurred me on to replacing my black ones on my xflow...the black ones had once worked loose in heavy Belgian rain and flew off, luckily recovered! I got them from Car Builder Solutions 2 x Chrome Windscreen Wiper Wheelbox Ferrule SKU: WBCF 2x Stainless Steel Adjustable Right Park Wiper Arm SKU: WAADJRP 2x Stainless Steel Sprung Windscreen Wiper Blade 8" SKU: WBS8 Adjustable Arms needed shortening with a hack saw. Blades (nicely sprung) need an extra bend as arm neck bend wasn't quite the same. Easy. I like the way they fix with a grooved block butting against the grooved spindle rather than the old push fit. I added some thread lock. The Chrome ferrules look nice too.

Could I take the windscreen deflectors please? Will pm
  7. Lovely to see another 7 loom in the mirrors as the rain started early this morning...Glad you had a half hood, I swung off at Aston Clinton to put mine on
  8. The tag style Ines are listed on eBay as Landrover switch labels. The fan overide switch now says 'ejector seat' just to alarm any passengers. Other labels I used dymo tape for a race car look. I do have an extra light between the speedo and revcounter which is a light to tell me when the fan is on. https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/282436637201
  9. I was lucky enough to buy a red dash from Caterham via ebay. Knocked it back colour wise to match the faded red seats with a Gliptone leather colour match, just sent them a swatch from beneath a seat.
  10. Fwiw I had a Momo 270mm on mine which I then put on a larger Moto Lita 'classic' leather rim wheel. I found the steering weight better with the larger Moto Lita. I, too, hanker after the wooden look, so d be interested what they say and if you go ahead how it feels.
  11. Local club member has a tube from the nose through to the footwell and has fitted a push type bath plug operated by foot to open/close
  12. My attempts, Wrapping exhaust pipes from block to outside. Applying thermostat silver mat insulation to bulkhead. Fitted tx:4 4 taxi heater cutoff pipes connected to a mini push pull choke hidden under dash. Theory being to prevent hot water circulating through the heater until wanted, preventing a hot spot above knees. Hendrix, I'll be interested in pics of the fans fitted. Best of luck.
  13. Bright Green parked right outside the Goodwood Hotel today, Sunday. Thanks for leaving just enough space to squeeze another in even closer. Perfect place to park! I suspect you were part of a Caterham delegation as I saw two others with LJ17 plates and a Caterham branded Discovery.
  14. Heading towards Enfield this afternoon. I was in green 7, made a half hearted attempt at a wave, I think you completely missed me in the traffic!
  15. If I'd known I'd have stripped naked and lain in the garden!
  16. On my drive, must have been sunny. (picture deleted)
  17. My old boss lives not too far away, in Matching Tye.
  18. Spotted heading towards London as I went the other way. Shimmering green in the sunshine! Nice!
  19. I made sleeves for them from fleece. Also, much easier with wing mirrors removed.
  20. Shiny looking older car, German plates I think... heading towards the A1. Wondered if it had been to Malcolm Ricketts? Monday midday.
  21. Judging by the number of naked front plated cars (Ferraris, Lambos and souped up Audis and BMWs mostly) around here I'd be amazed if a 7 was done for it. But that's round here, other areas may vary. I wouldn't be comfortable driving with no plate on the front, but would consider a stick on one. I too feel a full sized pate looks big on a 7. I found a 5 digit plate and got them made up full size, but for 5 digit size, so not as long. These are legal* . You can even justify the expense with man maths as they save weight and possibly more aero...(!). DVLA direct is a good place to seek out C7 xxx plate or similar at a good price. *technically my plates aren't legal as they don't have the post code of the manufacturer on them, but they are raised letter style not flat perspex and are the legal style of what was available at the time the car was made. I do know hey are recognised by cameras as I've be charged by Dartford Crosding. m'lud.
