  1. Thanks... Seems the sidelines tab wires are not plugged in and hiding.... Will hunt now!
  2. just a quickie.. Is the rocker switch blue inset light meant to light up like the other dash switches when operated 'on'?
  3. ... And no cats eyes on the road either... You can thank the skateboard race re-surface for that little treat.... Sadly not enough money to re-surface the whole road to the gap. Fab road!
  4. I'd be interested in a bulk buy heated screen. Also, didn't someone mention they'd got a screen cut from a flat Land Rover glass in Ipswich? (seem to recall) ...and that it was cut so it had safety marks on it. I 'think' it's an MOT requirement, but I've seen the kite mark stickers for sake on EBay that would fool any but the most pedantic or observant examiner.... I know it wasn't heated though.
  5. winter project, looking for dash panel, any condition, ideally drilled, but not fussed if it's got all the notes in all the right places. sorted in record time... Thanks Pendennis.
  6. Nice! I love looking at piccies!
  7. If you hit Browse server, then the 'Upload' button it should link to your camera roll. Then it will up load that image to the server.
  8. If it's just for his use, with ear defenders, would a portable DAB be an idea? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pure-PocketDAB-1500-Digital-Portable-Personal-DAB-FM-Radio-Sennheiser-earphones-/201396151430?hash=item2ee4256486
  9. I'll investigate. They have a branch in Snaaaalbaaans, so very local. Cheers.
  10. Just thinking in advance... any recomendations for somewhere in Herts/ Norf Laaandan that can refurb minilites? No dings, just clean and repaint. I'd do them myself but worried it will be like my old Spitfire wheels and end up spraying them every few months...
  11. Not sure on ''q' value drop, but it would put me off buying. Thing is, once on a 'Q' it cannot be anything else...some people do think they can transfer numbers onto Qs but you can't... Id guess around £1000- £2000 less on a fully built car, but I wouldn't buy, so I suspect you are limiting your market too.
  12. Spotted filling up at the tiny Petrol Station near the Hospital, think it was caged, aero screen and dark blue with carbon noseband? I was zooming by in the BRG cat.... Quick glimpse, but looked like a track day car out enjoying the fantastic weather today.
  13. Spotted you on steep incline out of Ricky towards Mount Vernon. Thanks for that! I was heading home after some treatment, took the Fiat as I wasn't sure how I'd cope in the high heat. Last week I took my 7 though, if you have ever been up that hill in an asmatic UP, (sisters) you'd know why. Made my day!
  14. Happy to report that temps have dropped considerably.
  15. Just been working on cooling issues after my modded x flow seemed hot in London traffic, (not surprised). Put in 11" Spal fan as on the front of my radiator is an oil cooler which I'd reckon blocks a bit of air. Anyway, easy to fix, not much cost, plug and pray. Next I had an insulating foam back kit sheets for an S3. Using these bits (with the nice pictures provided through this forum , most handy) I've been able to retro fit in situ over the pedal boxes and front of tunnel (till it goes on a ramp or rebuild for the rest of the tunnel). Had to mod with sciccors and clean panels to make it stick, but seem firm. Next I got two rolls of Titanium heat wrap, removed exhausts and sat in sunshine wrapping them. Metal cable ties seem shonky so using Jubillee clips. Will take pictures shortly, but wrapped the pipes from 1/2" off manifold to through the side panel for a hint of retro wrap showing. Used opportunity to replace exhaust gaskets. Obviously, have to report back on effect, and doing three things at once won't necessarily tell me whether any or all work or which has most effect...But fingers crossed. My passenger didn't understand why I put the heating on in traffic when temp went up, and explaining to her it was either a new head gasket or shoes didn't help. But I am keen to get temps down if possible on what is essentially to me a street machine, not a racer.
  16. As an aside, for my road going 7 I checked the date on the extinguisher this week and it said 2011.. So I looked into a recharge. Ended up going to Screwfix and buying a new one for £12.99 i would have hated to have needed it and for it not to work. Good to be reminded to check dates, cheers.
  17. Must be.. I got a kit but no instructions... I may just have to keep it for the day the car is rebuilt...
  18. I used Mr Clutch (Highgate Branch) a few years ago to do my petrol T4 VW Van. They quoted cheap on what I knew was a pig of a job and they did a good job. Much as I like doing it myself, sometimes it's sensible to use a pro and get a guarantee, especially on an awkward job.
  19. Has anyone fitted the Caterham heat shield kit, if possible with any pics showing where the mass of triangular pieces and odd shaped bits fit? Ive looked at build manuals and a few build blogs but can't see any reference to fitting the sticky backed pads.
  20. My car had a map pocket fitted just where you say, now stuffed full of hi vis, torch, pen and first aid kit... The previous owner also fitted one between the seats on the bulkhead, advantage being you can reach it strapped in.
