Mark,
I did experience the problem you describe. There was a poor connection between the wingstay and the chassis. It sounds like I was a bit unlucky though - it only happened on one side. I solved it by running an earth wire along by the indicator wire.
I expect that you should be fine without, and if not you know the solution.

I have always found there to be a very helpful atmosphere in the paddock - you should get plenty of help whenever you need it.
good luck with the preparations, and see you in a few months, Simon

A good alternative to fitting wing protectors is 3M film. Premier paint guard sell it cut in the right shape (with a club discount). You can fit it yourself on a new wing.
It is remarkable stuff. I did about 25k miles and the wing was still in very good condition.

I have just drilled out the knee trim rivets on my new car to install the captive nut thing for the aero screen. (Most Sevens have self taping screws, but mine does not for some reason)
Other than looking tidy, what other function does the knee trim have? Once riveted back access is restricted. I’m tempted to add lightness...

Caterham Seven 160 (2015) - for sale £16,500
We have had enormous fun in this car. We have taken it to Scotland twice, Ireland and France. It has done 3 track days, and eleven sprints. (All very carefully warmed up and down again)
I have decided that I need a car with a few more bhp to be competitive in the Northampton Motorsport L7 Speed Championship. This car is great fun, and ideal for touring, but it cannot really compete with 125bhp cars. It is time to move on, and I plan to buy an academy car or something similar. I will probably part exchange this car fairly soon (once a suitable replacement comes up). However, before I do, I thought that I would offer it for sale here. It is not advertised anywhere else.
26,000 miles - mostly on long trips
Lowered floors
Trackday rollbar (suitable for L7 club trackdays)
Leather seats
Leather mono removable steering wheel
4pt harnesses
This car was built carefully by me in 2014/2015 - you can see my build blog on this site. It has been serviced by me using good quality engine oil.
It is an ideal car for touring. The handling is excellent, and it is much swifter than you would imagine from 80bhp.
Please pm me if you are interested.

Yes, that was my first L7 track day, and I really enjoyed it. The coaching came in very useful - I didn't realise what could be done. It was also kind of Millwood Caterham to provide a very good lunch too.
Many thanks to the track day team for the considerable task in organising it.

Looks nice...There was an interesting article in the Guardian a few days ago about a driving holiday in Norway.

Hello Bob,
Sounds like your on a shopping spree after the tour (battery/mirrors).
My car had convex racetech mirrors. They are much better than the Caterham ones, but once vehicles loom up in them, they are rather close.

I'm not bringing any guests either (so you would be welcome). However, I didn't see any guest passes in the final instructions emailed on.
Should I be expecting something through the post?

Thank you!

Yes, many thanks for your work With the t shirts, handbook etc.
Rockingham was a good start to the season. Interesting track surface!

My thanks to Chris and all the other volunteers that helped with the large amount of work involved in organising the championship - not least our own Curborough events.
Thank you to Northampton Motorsport for their sponsorship too.
Well done to the class winners.

Dear all,
It has been suggested that I start a post in the tech talk section about the 160 turbo. With the new Supersprint there might be some interesting developments...
Mine recently failed, but this was due to a split silicone air pipe (one of the thin ones). The split was around the circumference and hidden under the turbo outlet. I think that the pressure from the turbo just released through the split. I have sorted the problem by shortening the pipe and now it is back to normal.
These pipes perhaps lose their suppleness because of the high temperature (?). I have been told that Demon Tweaks sell replacement pipes with shielding but I have not looked into this yet.
For reference details about the turbo can be found on on my blog here

Ah that's sad. I quite enjoyed that one.

Are the disposable earplugs somehow not up to the job? I use the Silicone 'Christmas tree' type and they seem OK.

Yes, very many thanks to the marshals, timekeepers and organisers.

Without wanting to sound stupid... How does an inertia switch differentiate between inertia and the car being at an angle on a hill?
You're not.
I think you could get around this problem by having two accelerometers at 90 degrees (one vertical and one horizontal).
Brake lights always on

This is the one that you want (if the switch is the problem)

At least your light is stuck on. Mine was intermittent and completely unknown to me until I was told after some dramatic evasive action from a friend following behind. Caterham should fix this.
