    Ned's 160: finished!

    Congratulations...
  2. Yes, kind of nerdy in a good way. I'll see if I can pick up one that works with iOS.
  3. Ok lets meet for lunch in Street, Somerset on Saturday 8th August. I'll book a table at a local pub. We could perhaps get a group photo in Low Flying with Glastonbury Tor in the background. For long suffering other halves there will be an opportunity for shopping in Clark's village. (Or alternatively we could blat around Cheddar Gorge). Let me know if you are interested (and whether it is one or two) and I'll send a private mail, or email, the week before. Simon
  4. That is interesting Ned - there were no codes needed to get into the ECU then?
  5. Awesome! That looks like two very happy people. I floated the idea of 160s meet for lunch on 8th or 9th August to the others. Let me know if you are interested. You too Ned.
  6. Hmm.. We seem pretty busy around June. How about 8th or 9th August?
  7. Thanks guys. What about a160 owners lunch on the 20th or 21st June in Somerset? Simon
  8. Mine passed the IVA retest today... Hopefully I shall be on the road shortly. Can't wait.
  9. Great stuff Ned, the old geezer you got to turn the key looks delighted.
  10. I'm glad that they pulled out the stops to get it sorted quickly. simon
  11. My OCD has come out in a different way. To while away the days I have had a go at beefing up my garage security. I put together an alarm from a PIR sensor, arduino and other bits. It looks a mess but it can sense when you walk in the garage and trigger an alarm. it kept me busy anyway...
  12. just drive it and enjoy it; dents, stone chips and all! That is my plan anyway.
  13. Regarding getting the film on. I would say that it looks OK for a novice to have a go at the wings (this is what I would do, if I built another car). He does a discount for L7 members too.
  14. Argh... I'm just lamenting my empty garage.
  15. I have not had the privilege of seeing me car running yet but I will look out for this. I emailed Derek about the key barrel. I notice on one of the car magazine reviews the writer had a problem with a key getting stuck; this is what got me thinking.
  16. Thanks both... I think I'll phone Paul discuss it. One thing that also bothers me, and I wrote on my snagging list, is that the key is slightly 'sticky' in the barrel. I.e. It is slightly awkward to remove. Have you found this with your cars?
  17. Bad news folks. I found out today that my car failed on two counts. A fuse blew on the windscreen wipers during testing - I think that there might be a problem with the wiring. It also failed because of the seat belt mountings (which Caterham put in). Caterham will get it sorted. more waiting though
  18. Ned, it makes a good place for the 12V Socket if you fit one. (You can do it for a few pounds).
  19. Ah that will be why. Normally, they are quick at getting back.
  20. No news from me today. I emailed Paul but no reply yet...
  21. Oh no, that is very annoying . I hope that it get sorted very promptly. My car's big day is tomorrow... I'm hoping for the best. Simon
  22. Yes, the knee trim panels did take a bit of persuasion. Peter found this as well. The fuse box is a little confusing too. It took us a while to get the right orientation (but it does fit). good luck
  23. I'm sorry to hear that. Perhaps the engine and CAT take a little while,to bed in? I'm glad that you enjoyed the drive at least. I'm counting the days...
  24. Come on then Martiin, good news?
  25. I wish I knew this before I did my front brakes. This is one thing that needed to be corrected at my PBC; the lines were slightly twisted and there was slight seepage under the copper washer. Simon
