I know of two trackday slots at Goodwood for a private hire on the 25/2 A group of us from the Isle of Wight have hired the circuit direct from Goodwood & they will supply the marshalls. The day will mainly consist of novice drivers in all types of vehicles but I and Wightskipper will be there in our 7's along with Dizz & maybe one or two others as support. A couple of the lads cannot make it and want to sell their slots at £200 - there will be no more than 30 cars attending. Its a private affair and my role here is to advertise the slots on behalf of the lads that need to re-coup the cost. I can put you in touch direct and provide more information about who is orgainising it & if anyone is concerned about dealing with unknowns I can broker it - I am entirely trustworthy. Most of them are youngsters in Civics/Scoobys (not CHAVS) etc and have little track experience BUT they are not HEROES or Louis Hamiltons and we had a day like this in November without incident and TBH you were lucky to see/overtake many cars. The day may not suit die hard trackday fans or racers !! thanks for the info the point with the tyres really is that the ZZ3 certainly on the front need replacing so I thought now would be a good time. The driver training issue is very valid & a group of us hired Goodwood recently including 2 instructors - we are doing that again in February but I would like to replace my tyres before then hence the opinions sought. With regard to braking - it obviously means that tyre effects this - I had 21s on my red xflow car but I never tracked that so dont have a comparison. Just after some thoughts on the following Have a 1.8 Roadsport on Avon ZZ3 - want grippier tyres for tracks and non wet road use (1500 miles a year max) and am thinking about going for Toyo 888 (not the soft compound) on the standard 14 inch rims in 185/60 - anyone had any experience ? next thing is should I be running the standard geometry settings or can I tweak anything for the track ? I THINK ITS DEAD RIGHT I used to have one and they are cracking I would probably buy this from you if were not for the logistics - I really miss the cylinder cut when I look out of my bedroom window in the mornings - rotary mowing is just such a compromise.
