Buda
This'll sort the men from the boys, ie youll only experience it if youre car gets wet! I use the car every day. It rains sometimes. When it gets wet (heavy rain - like today) the passenger side headlight either fails to work or works only on its sidelights. I assume this means water is getting onto a connection somewhere, I assume its in the engine bay because as it warms up the headlight comes on properly, is this common? I'm going to trace the wire and put electrical tape over all the connectors at the weekend is this a good idea or are there any better suggestions? Geoff Dixon
Try the earth connection where the wire from the headlight comes back through the headlamp stay and is then connected to the chassis by the headlamp stay clamp.
Casbar
I had a similiar experience, in very heavy rain and standing water. Only my headlights kept going dim and bright. The end result was my alternator packed up.
