nickh7 Posted April 22, 2006 Share Posted April 22, 2006 All I've done is swap the the backs to the fronts (o48r) and the handlings gone to pot, understeers off in all the slow to mid speed corners 🙆🏻 I've Freestyle Dampers,springs amd Antiroll bar (fully vertical ie stiff) , std rear anti roll bar on 2nd hole, 3 clicks on rears and none on the front. Tyre presures 18psi all round Advice in how to dial out the understeer without lossing the the high speed stability please. rgrigsby Posted April 22, 2006 Share Posted April 22, 2006 What engine is it? a lot of people run full soft on the front anti-roll bar rather than full-stiff, might be worth a go. Tyre pressures Tread depth/grip Try changing them back and see what happens A10ROX:OK, its an R500 without the magnesium bits sump etc and only 205bhp! I would have expected the grip to increase in dry conditions on worn tyres leading to the exact opposite symptoms. Maybe 48s go "off" as they wear. Neill Anderson Posted April 23, 2006 Share Posted April 23, 2006 My educated guess is that the previous fronts, now on the rears, have worn into the camber pattern created by the front static geometry settings (camber, toe, etc) as well as the dynamic geometry (ie camber chnage and toe change due to bumpsteer) and are now fitted, probably more vertical and with less overall toe on the rear. The same applies to the rears, now on the front. I would bet that after another 500 miles or so it will be OK again, unless there was obvious uneven wear on the old fronts.
