Loctite 574

If my local factors don't have any I'm going to head over to Halfrauds - Do they have their own brand of this. Would like to try and get some this weekend for my new dry sump pan. - Currently have re-used the plastic coated steel gasket from the wet sump (K)

thanks

James.

Halfords never seem to have any anaerobic gasket sealant when I go there. They have loads of different silicone ones and Hylomar but never the proper stuff. I ordered 574 from RS components - not cheap though *eek*.

Halfrauds didnt have any near me.

I ended up phoning Loctite themselves and asking who the local dealers were. Happened to be tool supplier. They sent some round the next day on a van. Cost around £16 for 50ml.

Only needed a 1" squirt.

I'll bet it doesn't last till the next job, so if your anywhere near Bristol and want to borrow , let me know...

It'll last for ages - unless you suck all the air out of the bottle and store it like that - in which case it'll cure quite nicely.

Left alone in te bottle in a reasonably cool place, it'll still be okay several years from now.
