Steve Robinson
Longcross is 8 days away, my car won't start and I go on holiday from Monday to Friday night aarghhh So is anyone technical free this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon to come to Bedfordshire and get my car going? Have checked all the fuses, fuel pump is priming and best i can tell the fuel is getting to the spark plugs. Have also tried brand new spark plugs but still it only turns over but doesn't fire. If you can come to my rescue please call me on my 07810 880258 and I'll make you as much coffee and ply you with as many biscuits as you need... Steve Robinson
God bless the AA 😬 Took him an hour and a half but managed to trace the fault to a problem in the ECU, now starts but may not be reliable. Anyone got an ECU for a 98 K series laying around by any chance? Steve

LazerBrain
Steve - there's a few places around that can repair the Rover MEMS ECUs. One place on the Isle of Wight quoted about £200 with a warranty - I'll see if I can dig out some names. cheers, Darren.

Graham Perry
There must be a few folks on here who have upgraded that have an old MEMs kicking around the garage that could help Steve out ?
TonyR
Steve, You will need the matching imobiliser and plippers if you change the ECU, although I believe they can be re-programmed. TonyR
