Spare Crossflow Engine

I am in the middle of rebuilding a 1600 crossflow 7. It looks like the engine may be in worse condition than I thought, and the money I was going to spend on a rebuild may actually be better spend on a different unit.

 

So I was wondering is anyone had a redundant crossflow that they might want to sell. Ideally I would like a 1700cc that I could just bolt in with no work, and if it came with a 5-speed, so much the better. I have a set of carbs that I can rejet.

 

I am happy to discuss all options, so please let me know if you have anything that may be of use.

You could try Nick Chan - Blatmail from one of his threads

 

I believe that he has a 1700s/s sitting around and, when I return an engine to him that is currently on load he will have a 1760cc, A6 cammed x-flow available (with nice internals). Develops something well north of 155bhp.

I have just taken out a 1700cc ss X-flow from my car (changing to Zetec).

On 45 Webers, dry sumped. Looking for £750 for the whole unit.
