mr toad
Due to re-organisation of the current line-up, our immaculate one owner Golf GT TDi is for sale. 2002 on an 02 plate; 57,000 miles; £9,250. Black metallic (diamond black), black leather, 5 door, 130 bhp. Very high spec includes: black leather heated Recaros (£2,500 option!), cruise control, parking assistance, winter pack (heated mirrors and washer jets), sunroof, centre armrest, single CD radio. Just spent £900 on a full service, cambelt change, MOT and a year's tax so it'll be a cheap year's motoring! A very faithful friend that has eaten many a napping sportscar for breakfast! We will be truly sorry to see it go but the Focus ST beckons... mr toad
ok - help now needed the new ASBO arrives next week and it would be polite to shift the Golf before that arrives or the count will reach 6 cars anyone got a good idea how I can get a sensible trade price for it? it is totally mint and we would love it to go to a good home but it's time to bite the bullet cheers - jt
Jaseb
Can you offer it back to the place where you got it from? This is what I'm doing with my Signum, albeit will probably offer it on here at the same price first. My garage (VX specialist not dealer though) seemed quite keen. Just a thought. mr toad
cheers, chap already tried and they know it's a good 'un but no good too much mileage for a main dealer to buy in apparently; they offered a mega part-ex though!
Martin S.
I'll start the bidding at £3K
Mike Molloy
Parkers says 7920 for a part ex. Knock a bit off cos it's got Starship Enterprise mileage... I'll up the bid to 6K! 😳
John Ryan
Hi I have access to online CAP guide via work (I work for a rental company) The above car @ 57,000 miles is £7,325 trade clean, and £8,750 dealer retail. I would think the extras would add about £500. Great cars, I have a 140PS GT TDI, and as well as 48mpg, it is pretty lively.
mr toad
thanks guys, I now appreciate what a mixed blessing advertising one's car on blatchat is! I did verbally agree a deal with someone this morning (pending looking at in on monday) with a very good element of the difference between my asking and the agreed going to NtL from both sides - I hope they're not regretting that now! John - I think you're probably about on the money; isn't it interesting what £4,000 of extras turns out to be worth?! cheers toad
Frying Pan
James I'll run the ASBO in for you if you want... Guy See some pictures of the build here. 9000 miles completed!
Mike Molloy
As the old adage goes - it's worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it! FWIW I thought your ad made it sound a very attractive motor. Telling us "it has to go by the end of the week" is a mistake though... All the pikeys and chisellers come out of the woodwork! Are you willing to divulge what price you agreed on in the end? BTW, my entry into the bidding war is semi-serious. Doing 20K miles pa in the scooby is costing me a fortune in gas. I have even been giving sideways glances toward a Fabia vRS in the carpark. But then a little voice says - a Skoda diesel? Noooooo! 😬
Tom_C
Mike, I looked at the Skoda as my Clio 182 costs a fortune in fuel. I rejected it cos the cabin was horrible. Not a bad car otherwise. Mike Molloy
Maybe heated leather Recaros should be on the Skoda options list! 😬 I haven't driven one yet but it does have the 130 PD engine, so should be reasonably grunty. Have to say I'm not impressed with VW reliability these days. The "if only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagon" slogan has a bit of a hollow ring to it. Tom_C
There is a dealer fit leather pack, it's more that the dash is hard plastic with loads of blank switches, non-matching bits etc. Doesn't have the cornering poise of the Clio either, but goes well in a straight line. Sheds Moderator
Extras are a bit of a disaster come resale. While it's true that the boggo basic ones just don't sell at all (except for boggo basic small hatches) the fully loaded jobs are worth little more at resale. Good luck. finmac
Agree re extras in ALMOST all cases. There are a few exceptions, Sat Nav on cars like M3 and M5 BMW's for example. Costs £2K new and even 3 years old cars with it are still worth £1.5K more than those wothout! HPC with QED
mr toad
car now sold! £N00 to NtL agreed as part of the price negotiation (thanks Daren!) - what about a voluntary levy on blatchat on all cats sold with, say, 0.5% going toward NtL? all this blatchatting has got me excited about a se7en again - anybody want a perfect 340R? cheers jt
