K Series Click - Solved For Me...

...after checking that the cables to the solenoid were not cooked (not that), stipping down and servicing the starter motor as per Alcester Racing Sevens excellent guide (not that either), I found that it was the relay. The advertised modification did the trick, and I am glad I did each process individually in order to positively identify the exact cause.

It is now VERY quick to spin over and catch.

Best Regards,

Now that you've bypassed the built in relay, with another one, remember that the new relay may sometimes (but not always) exhibit the same symptoms after a year or so. This could be the relay contacts corroding or the starter solenoid in need of a clean.

I replace my relay every year just in case; it's only a few quid.

PS: Just seen you're from Yealmpton. Used to pick up fish & chips here when coming back from the beach. Also remember a certain girl from Yealmpton *eek*

I was at school at Plympton Grammar in the 60's.
