fevans
What a p.i.t.a! *mad*The filler plug is hard to get on and off, and I couldn't get a tube in sufficiently to let me pump out the oil. There seems to be a large access plate on top of the box, held in place by six small bolts, which I can get at easily from the engine bay as the car is an SV. Is it OK to remove this and pump out/refill the oil from there? Best Regards, Felix Yealmpton
F355GTS
Felix, thought it was more than 6 bolts? you can remove the top cover but lift it off carefully and look at the way the selector shaft guide is fitted into the underside of the cover for easier/ correct reassembly! Bozz
On my 6 speed I refilled the oil through the top cover aperture (6 speed box has a drain plug), just don't drop anything in the hole Bozz My Chocolate Orange here
fevans
F355 - I was worried about that, so there is something attached to the underside of the plate. Is it hard to relocate once off? Felix Yealmpton
Englishmaninwales
Why change the oil? Gear oil doesn't get contaminated with combustion products unlike engine oil. Just keep it topped up. malcolm
