Drumster
When my Supersprint engine was refreshed by Roger King in November 2000, some 30,000 miles ago, I decided to have a rev limiter fitted. I ended up with the Smoothcut RL3 and all has been well until last week. Started engine and went for a short blat and whilst checking things under the bonnet the engine just died. In short I narrowed it down to the RL and having unplugged it the engine stared first time. Turned off, reconnected the RL and the engine stated fine. Drove home, with RL in place, no problems. Yesterday, got the 7 out of the garage and it wouldn't start, so disconnected the RL and everything fine. Went for a short blat, came home turned the engine off and re-connected the RL and the engine started! Haven't been out to the car today. So the questions are: Do they become unrelaiable after a time? Should I rip out the existing RL and replace it or can it be repaired? Is this a common problem?
