7 wonders of the world
Hi Mark, Might be worth dropping mail to Tom&, he's got some brand new bare VHPD heads (same casting as the R500) for sale a set of REC's and a little work form Oily and you away. On the piston front I did a mini bulk buy on Accralite forged one direct from Accralite they were offering a very good price on 3 or more sets I put the others on here and they went on the same day! cheers 7 wonders of the world
Mark Piper
Thanks 7 - I've already mailed Tom - I want a bare head really - the guides are different for an R500...he did have one with guides and valves already in situ. I'm also told the pistons are from Cosworth and specific to the R500
Jason Plato
Just remove the guids and put Colisbro in anyway - you wont get a better valve guide material (for oursue anyway) why do you need specific R500 kit - if you dont mind me asking ?. You are very unlikley to find used R500 gear unless its knackered or was removed via the crankcase wall
Mark Piper
Dave - 'cos the engine in the R500 I have bought was rebuilt by Stevie Wonder, who seems to have used a chainsaw to cut the valve seats, whilst skimming the head with a cheese grater...so I need a new head in short!
