Gasket between engine and gearbox?

Hi,

 

Is there a gasket between the engine and bellhousing (I guess not)?

And between the bellhousing and gearbox?

Does it make any difference if the bellhousing is for dry sump or not?

 

At the moment there is a lot of silicone at the gearbox side of the dry-sump bellhousing, therefore my question.

 

Can I find (an exploded view) in any of CC’s books?

 

Engine is K- Series (VVC and R400) gearbox is 6-speed CC.

There is a gasket between the bellhousing and gearbox but not between the bellhousing and engine.

 

Just qualify that - that's true on the type 9 gearbox not sure about the 6 speed.

Gasket not used on 6 speed. Some silicone sealant is used though.

Six speed box does not a gasket as the sliding shaft has its own oilseal/O-ring. For all other boxes a gasket is necessary.

Type 9 & early 6 speeders need a gasket & a little silicone. Later 6 speeders have an "O" ring on the sliding shaft, early 6 speeders don't.
