Area Representative z7 Posted March 29, 2006 Area Representative Share Posted March 29, 2006 I came across this site here. Which tells you how to calculate torque settings when using an extension. Thought it might be of interest. Adil

Tony C
New torque equals TOL over NIL New torque = Torque x Old length divided by New length 😬
Peter Carmichael
How many people extend their torque wrenches at the business end?
Sheds Moderator
Not many I'd wager. I have always used the bathroom scales and tape measure technique for big torques (which is the only time you need to extend it) - assuming you can bring your entire weight to bear on the bar at the appropriate point and that "g" isn't having an off day you are always going to get it right.
