Greasing steering column bushes

Have just got around to removing my steering column to fit the Q/R version and I noticed that the column was greased.

 

I also notice that it is surprisingly badly worn/scorned at the lower bush position.

 

I wasn't expecting to have to grease it, the bushses having nylon inners, but obviously it was previously and even so the column is well worn.

 

So, to the question, do I use normal lithium grease, something else or should it not be greased 🤔

I suspect the grease attracted the grit that wore the column, I believe they are not supposed to be lubricated

Perhaps use some teflon lubricant 🤔

*thumbup*Lithium grase should not be used on bushes that are rubber, it corodes the rubber.

Use a silicone grease or a LM variety.

Helped a mate take his steering column out last week, no grease on any of the bushes, and no particular wear either.

Dry should be good as it doesn't make the grit stick. I've used silicone. That's wet.
