Graeme Smith
Anyone got experience of or recommendations for up-rated bulbs or additional lighting on a Seven? I'm going night racing later this year...
Chelspeed
Check out "Headlight Adjustment" from 21 December 2001, some good info (from me!!).
JKJ
Try Phillips Vision Plus from powerbulbs.com. They are meant to be 50% brighter with a 20 metre longer main beam. Have just fitted them to my Impreza and can say they are a marked improvement over the std items. They also are legal at 55/60W. Cost, £17.50 a pair and at the moment you get a free set of sidelights. Toyed with the PIAA bulbs but at £70 a pair and pulling a higher current decided against, also they have a tendancy to pop alot more frequently than the others so could be a problem on an old boneshaker like the 7. Pierre Gillet
Do smaller headlight bowls diminish significantly the lighting efficiency? Pierre
Graeme Smith
Had been looking at the Powerbulbs site - I'll give the Philips bulbs a try on the road. Chelspeed - couldn't find your thread by searching. Does it have different title? Although I'm perhaps not so bothered about aim - there (shouldn't be!) anyone coming the opposite way... Any thoughts on extra lights? I had a look in my local motorshop and they've got dinky little projector lamps (less wind resistance?). Perhaps I ought to try the Max Power forum - "Go for the Ice Blues, they're kickin'" biggrin.gif
martynr
Pukka H.I.D (high intensity discharge)-yes the very bright 'twinkley' ones- in self fit kit form available soon, 400% brighter and use much less power than halogen. Watch this space !
Chelspeed
I found it by searching for cibie. The thread was called headlight adjustment, clearly the search only searches the body of the text not the title.
Pierre Gillet
Can a charitable sevenist tell me what "pukka" is? Cheers, Pierre
Graeme Smith
Pukka - adjective meaning "the real thing" or "very good"; often used my mockneies (that's mock cockneies for Pierre); from Hindi
Pierre Gillet
Many thanks Graeme. I feel better now! Did not really sound English to me, and my faithful dictionnary would not tell... Cheers, Pierre
elie boone
Pierre, If you would know J.Oliver ( the naked chef ) btw it is a cook program, than you should know the meaning of "pukka" since he uses it every 2 min. cool.gif
Pierre Gillet
Sorry Elie. Don't know the chef. Is it in French? Pierre
Jim Ellis
Pierre Probably of more relevance when discussing that sous chef Oliver is Katcha. Same language but opposite meaning ...... fake or bad. Jim
