cdg
I take your point, but it's all subjective. Some people don't like Caterhams. Chris.
I reply to every thread
Fair point - but I think you'd travel a long way to find someone who would describe that as a "rare classic performance car"! Rare maybe - but for obvious reasons
dnorth
Well, as far as performance is concerned - it appears to have a V6 engine, which implies some degree of get up and go, and it will certainly be rare as I don't think Dutton "made" it for long!! More worryingly, I seem to remember the car being called a "Legerra" - would you buy a secondhand kit car from someone who couldn't even get the name right??!! CHRIS CLARK
What about the twin turbo V8 'Phaeton' (for 2500UKP ish) on the same site?
cdg
I saw the twin turbo Phaeton at Donington last year, and if you ignore the fact that it's a Dutton, it really is quite an awesome machine. The standard of preparation and engineering is first class, and I will stick my neck out and say that for "bang for buck" it's unbeatable. Chris. Alex Wong1697456877
I've driven a Phaeton and a had many rides in a Legerra. The chairman of the dutton owners club is a good friend of mine. The Phaeton was actually quite fun to drive. You had to be quick to catch the rear though. It wasn't really really in the same league of course but still fun. CHRIS CLARK
Well I can admit to having had a Dutton Phaeton (Q57RCA) which had a Fiat twin cam pushing about 110 BHP. Difficult to handle around bends with those cart type rear leaf springs etc. It was my cheap 'Seven' while I still had the 'Esprit' !
