As I,m near Nottingham I will ask where Caterham Midlands take the ones they build, when I place my order(SOON I HOPE). Does anyone know who they use? Bob Corb Posted January 15, 2002 Share Posted January 15, 2002 Caterham Midlands do indeed send their cars through Derby. They are very understanding, especially with FIA bars. They didn't bother doing the visibility check or noise test on my car as Tricia Moore (Derek's wife) had taken a car through 2 days earlier which the tester had passed with only minor gripes. The fact that her car had a std roll bar and a road spec exh compared to my comp items went unoticed. They were good enough to adjust the headlamps on the test rig and turn a blind eye while I retorqued them. They do however have a few things they like to see on the car which I/Caterham Dartford weren't aware of and Derek Moore put me straight on at my post build check:- 1. Rubber piping around the reverse and fog lamp bezels 2. Both pins in the drivers door hinges bolted down, (Caterham say just 1). 3. Battery vent hose fitted. 4. Tape over the balance weights on the spare wheel (that was on TM's car, I dont have a spare) Cant remember the others but DM is the expert. Otherwise car passed.
