Big Brother
Has anyone got an old Crossflow Lucas (short bodied) alternator they want to part with? The model number is LRA100 and I need the one with a flat (ish) end where the wiring plug fits. A bit like this but maybe with a black plastic cover on the rear. Either that or a Valeo (sp) direct replacement. Mine is about to be repaired (again) so I'm looking to get a spare! Just thought I'd try here, before heading for the scrapyard to rip one out of a little Mini! Steve SE7EN-UP! F355GTS
Steve I bought mine from Burghfield Starter and Alternator, £45 exchange or £65 to buy one outright, I've a brand new spare here you can borrow until your's is fixed if it helps btw I had one fail or I thought it had failed but all that had happened is the bolts holding the voltage reg on the back had worked loose and it wasn't earthing correctly! Big Brother
Mark, Thanks for the offer of a loan . I have the Auto Electrician booked in for Monday so given the weather I will probably wait it out. He's been briefed and will be bringing a new diode pack and a regulator. I didn't realise that alternators could be bought outright for that sort of price. I thought they were about twice that price So if one doesnt pop up here I will take a trip over to Reading and grab one Steve SE7EN-UP!
