I am going to fit a ford english axle instead of the ital unit but need to choose a ratio for the diff. I run a standard 5speed box on 185x70x13 tyres. I want to sprint as well as have a road car that is not revving its pants off on the motorway. Currently I have the 4.11 diff. Blatman Posted January 10, 2002 Share Posted January 10, 2002 If you are keeping the gearbox ratio's standard, then a 3.62 would be (and is) my choice. If you have a longer first gear (2.39 or 2.04, or almost any ratio starting with 2.....) then a 3.9 or 4.1 would be OK, although with a 4.1, I'd be looking for the longest 5th I could get (0.89 or 0.87 or something).
