DougieB
Hi all, Tried to start my 1.6k series last night without much success. The engine wants to turn and a metallic 'clunk' is clearly heard. The fly wheel turns a few degrees, but the engine won't fire. Someone at work suggested I hit the starter motor with a hammer as they get jammed ??? There is plenty of charge in the battery. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks DougieB
simon7
Hi, try the following 1. put in third gear and rock back and forth, this may turn starter motor if jammed. 2. Tap starter with a tapped up spanner 3. Give battery a top up, because if car has been sitting for a while you need alot of charge to turn engine over.
