Super_Rich_Bernie
Hi Have any of the sprint competitors been to Rushmoor Arena? If so what is it like as a sprint venue? I might try the April event there. Jonathan
mikes
I have not sprinted there, but I have watched the rallying which I think uses some of the same track. I think Eric McLoughlin has driven there so you might want to post something on Chit Chat - not sure looks at this part very often. I am pretty sure he said that the surface is pretty rough with bad changes from one section to another. From what I saw as a spectator at the rally, this would seem to be probably true. There were some very scary, fast stuff through the trees though (not sure they use this for the sprint though) - looked great watching a Mk1 Escort doing it, but I am certain I am not that brave in the wet and gloom!! RichardO
This is one of my local ones. It's run on a perimeter type road around the old army exhibition ground: Good points: Very well run Excellent spectator venue as almost the whole course is visible from the paddock area Very good bacon butty van 😬 Challenging course (Mostly) a good surface Bad points: Scarily large kerbs in places Watersplash prior to first turn if it's been raining recently 😳 Challenging course! Eric McLoughlin
Basically all the above is correct. The day I ran there it drizzled all day so was VERY slippy. I went straight on on one corner - luckilly all I did was nudge a cone.
