Mrs Kipper
I called Caterham Parts this morning to order a set of FWBs but they are out of stock until early March. Are these standard parts or specifc Caterham fittings? Could I pick them up at a motor factors? Car is a year 2000 De Dion. Kipper Fun is not a straight line. Tom White
I'd have a word with Mick at Redline on 01 883 346 515 I am not sure if the stub axel is different from the Triumph ones on De dion cars of this vintage, the lower trunion is definitely different (spherical joint). good luck Tom
symo
I bought a set from Redline last week, £16.00 +VAT per axle.
blade_runner
Extract the bearings and take them to any good bearing stockist... they will be able to match them from the number stamped into the race. thats what I did with mine, they were spitfire ones on my 2001 chassis fireblade. they had the bearings on the shelf but didnt have any felt seals... I reused mine, and there were cheaper than cc 'Pinky Pics' here
Englishmaninwales
kipper try Rimmer Bros 01522568000 part no GHK1021 front hub kit malcolm
jerrypike
kipper fwb are the spitfire kit for 2000 De Dion (think i've posted the part no: on another thread) however, depending on mileage/use i'd reccommend this as being an opportune moment to fit the uprated stub axle- my cars a 2000 SLR and the N/S front failed about 18 months ago- scary moment on track- wouldn't do on the road jerry
Mrs Kipper
Thanks guys for the feedback and thanks Jerry for the scary thoughts I might take a little time to inspect the stub axles. Kipper Fun is not a straight line.
Revin Kevin
Kipper, If your worried about your stub axles rimmers do them, about £12 a go, cheaper to replace them regularly than the upgrade kit from CC. Cheers Chris
sjmmarsh
They are back in stock now (for 2001 SVs - dunno if they fit every car). Ordered one today (along with stub axle and upright). Steve
