Changing manifolds

I have an option to change to my standard (ie not great) manifold to a caterham 4-1 competition model, for a very reasonable price, from a very nice man on this site. But I have some concerns about it fitting and want to know if it will fit before I part with my mullar

This is for a 1.6 K series, and I want to retain for now the standard box with cat.

Having taken some measurements the main area of concern is that I will have to chop off a section of the pipe coming out of the can, this in it self is not a problem however there will not be very much overlap where the end of the manifold and the can overlap, by my measurement 4-5 cms.

Will this be enough?

Anyone else done this.

I know I can getter a better designed manifold elsewhere however this is an on the cheap solution, plus I only have the 1.6 Supersport.

Mine is a 4-1 into the standard cat'd manifold on a 1.6KSS. I didn't do the work, so I can't tell you how easy it was. The manifold is designed to become a 4-2-1 later by changing the collector and silencer. Powerspeed made it for me, so it might not be exactly the same dimensions as yours but I have some dig pictures which may be of interest to you.

If I can get my webspace to work at anything other than a snails pace I'll put them up on the net - alternatively, if you e-mail me I'll e-mail them back to you. (This will be tomorrow as I'm on bloody call again tonight!)

James.
