martin b
Just about to renew my 7 insurance and seem to remember reading a while ago that Llandow was on the list of approved trackday organisers for the Egger Lawson policy but can't find it, am I imaging it 🤔 Do people generally insure their cars for each event 🤔 I haven't checked with Egger Lawson but am unsure whether the track day extension even applies to sprints/hillclimbs. Thanks for asking the other questions before I even thought them Shaun Martin
robmar
trackday cover won't cover you for a timed competition ☹️ personally i don't insure my seven for sprints/hillclimbs as the premiums where high and the excess was big too My MSN Space and Blog - Syndicate Using RSS
bl0498
Martin, In general terms the competition insurance is for £xk cover - say £10k with an excess of say £1000. For a Caterham this will be approx £80 per event - about the same as the entry fee. The £10k is calculated as in most shunts you will not destroy the engine, hopefully. For minor shunts on a front corner etc this will fall under the excess limit. But on a big shunt/rollover it help avoid major expense.
