Battery on the Seven

Havent used the Seven since late October, its being treated well though in a Cair-o-port (car bubble thingy). I came to it today and no suprise to me the battery was dead.

Jumped it and took it for a swift 5 mile drive on the lanes where theres no salt, and brought it back. Battery had some juice in but not enough to turn the engine.

Two Qs really?

1) Is it safe to charge the battery on the car with the negative lead disconnected?

2) Will charging it be sufficient or do you reckon its now screwed as it has been fully discharged?

Sorry two more Qs?

3) Where can I buy a new Banner battery from - Cheapest place of course (1.6 Roadsport)

4) What psi should the front and back tyres be (15" wheels) Avons.

Thanks, Paul

Paul,

I Know Colin Heseltine (Mid.Staffs AO) has picked a few up.

I think there may well also be a dealer in Stafford stocks them.

When the car is not being used for a period of time, its best to use a battery conditioner. I use one of these here.

I'd suggest even lower on the tyre pressures, maybe as low as 16psi. I think you'll get better grip, but it may feel a little "soggy".
