Edzup Ezzer Posted January 7, 2002 Share Posted January 7, 2002 My speedo stopped working yesterday, apart from some signs of 'life' over 60/70mph (sometimes). Is this the end of the speedo (expensive no doubt £???) or the cable (cheaper I guess but a b*gg*r to fit I recall). Anyone had experience of this problem? CHRIS CLARK Posted January 7, 2002 Share Posted January 7, 2002 Yep, as Gary says it's common. Look under car on rhs towards the g/box and you may see it/feel it loose. Nigel Riches Posted January 9, 2002 Share Posted January 9, 2002 Been there, done that, and, yes it can be a ****e of a job if you have the older type of chassis with the closed in transmission tunnel, and no "angle drive", it does sound more as if the cable has failed rather than anything more serious, so will be a lower cost repair in the Muzzoma dept, be will severely tax your patience and manual dexterity, have fun, Nigel.
