Red Seven
I need a "new" tonneau to fit my 88 De Dion, and go over my newly acquired seats WITH HEADRESTS. If anyone has a suitable item, please let me know, failing which, I will need a tatty old tonneau to cannibalize.....so if anyone's got one of those going cheap, I'd be glad to hear. All the best! CHRIS CLARK
Jeff. I have to take the headrests OFF my 'S' type seats before the tonneau fits on!
Red Seven
But how do I know if they're S type seats? I've tried pulling the headrests out, but they seem disinclined to move, though I can see a chromed rod going into the seat back......any ideas? regards Jeff
CHRIS CLARK
Single oval type chrome support in the centre or a pair of support rods? Mine is the latter, but I'm sure both types just pull right out.
Red Seven
Chris, thanks for the advice. I'll have another tug o' war with the seats tomorrow and see what happens! Regards Jeff
WILL FLY
If they're fairly old seats then tey can rust in. Try squirting some penetrating oil or WD40 down the outside of the oval tube then wiggle the headrest. See willfly.net for more info. If you don't spin you ain't trying smile.gif
mike ashurst
They definitely do come out, but as everyone says they do stick. Just give them a squirt of the usual, and a bl**dy good pull. Make sure your chin isn't above them when they do come out, I nearly knocked myself out confused.gif Mike Edited by - mike ashurst on 7 Jan 2002 13:22:

Peter Mears
For constant in and outs, remove the spring clip at the bottom of the rod as this rips the fabric!
