neil.cavanagh
I need to replace one of the rear brake pipes where is joins the caliper... so in true Caterham fashion rather than just replacing I'll be upgrading to the flexible hoses rather than the solid pipes. What parts do I need for this? and where is the best place to source them. It is for a '03 SV de-dion with standard rear brakes. thanks!

F355GTS
Neil best place is Think Automotive in Isleworth, £25 approx last time I bought, be aware that they are different threads at each end, M10 on Caliper and Imperial at T -piece Mark

neil.cavanagh
thanks guys, Does anyone know the exact spec parts to go for before I call DT? I prefer to go and get them from Think automotive as I can call in person on my way home on friday afternoon....
Mick Day
James Whiting does a kit, but no doubt this is sourced from Think
CharlesElliott
Caterham can now supply braided hoses made up. Not sure if they have them for an SV, but see no reason why not. Myles
Yeah, CC sell the kits - I believe they're listed a Vauxhall race parts. I fitted a set earlier in the year - and although I had Think make up a number of sets of front hoses, it seemed a lot easier just to buy the rear kit from CC. Price is sensible. I'm fairly confident that they will be long enough for an SV DD tube, but you'd best check. Project Scope-Creep is live... CharlesElliott
I fitted mine to my race car (allowed in the 2006 regs - hooray! changing rear pads 2 or 3 times a season with solid pipes is a bit worrying!) last week using the Caterham parts. Archie Procter
Tried to do this to my car today (2001 Supergrad/Roadsport) and the Caterham kit seems to have metric at the caliper end and at the T-piece. Certainly the T-piece wouldn't fit. Have I got the wrong stuff or am I just a monkey who is doing it wrong?
CharlesElliott
It's possible that Caterham have had a supply issue - they did a couple of months ago with the wrong length hoses. However, it should be fine (with only metric at the caliper end). See what Darren/Tony suggest. Bozz
The brake hoses I've just got from CC seem to have a separate metric / imperial adaptor to fit the T-piece which is identified by notches across the corners of the hex.
