Andy Doughty
from my 96 de dion sprint which has done 30k and is in good condition. Selling due to Duratec lunacy! 😬 £45 plus postage
DaveMorris
Andy, I sure that this has been asked before - is Prop from a De dion x-flow the same length as one from a live axle x-flow ? Or to put in another way - could you let me have length from rear flange to some point near the front of the prop (not the end of the nose otherwise I'll have to take mine off the car to measure. Tx in advance, Dave p.s. - where are you ?
Andy Doughty
Good question Dave but can't answer. The shaft is the longer of what I believe are available from Caterham for de dions but I am not sure if it will fit a Live Axle. Overall length is 708 mm from the mating face of the diff flange to the end of the splined shaft The K series is the shorter one. I am converting to Duratec so I have now got a K version to replace this. I can post on the Techy section and ask if anyone knows. Also, I am in York
Andy Doughty
Our more knowledgeable friends on say it won't fit as the LA type is shorter and has a different flange 🙆🏻
straubcpeaknet.net
Does this fit a Ford type 9 transmission? If so would you be willing to cut off the front and rear yokes and just send them to me? Also what is the asking price? Thanks
Andy Doughty
Hi It will fit as my gearbox is a type 9 I am asking 45GBP plus post and could cut it up for you but it does appear a little drastic! There are companies that will manufacture special proprop shaft such as http://www.propshaft.co.uk/ and they may help you (not that I don't want a sale!) straubcpeaknet.net
Thanks Andy, I checked with the propshaft company that made up my last one here in the States and he said that there were no more front yokes available to him. I need to make up a front yoke for my son's Locost using a Ford Type 9 transmission. Craig
