Mark Durrant
I can now confirm the calendar for the 2006 season. You will see that there have been two significant changes regarding the dates for MIRA and Pembrey both of which were outside my control. Unfortunately this has left a gap with no events in June but the changes came so late that other events could not be found in the limited time available. That said we have 14 rounds with new venues including Shelsey Walsh, Pembrey and Cadwell Park so it should be a good season. Sun 23 April – Longcross Sun 30 April - Llandow (Trackday on 29)(Organiser – Richard Gambling) Sat 20 May – Curborough 1 Sun 21 May – Curborough (Marshalls Sprint – not a championship event) Sat 1 July – Shelsey Walsh Sat 8 July – Pembrey 1 Sun 9 July – Pembrey 2 Sat 15 July – Longcross 2 Sat 29 July - Loton Park Sat 5 August – MIRA Sat 26 August – Curborough (Marshalls Sprint– not a championship event) Sun 27 August – Curborough2 Sat 2 September – Aintree Sat 9 September – Wiscombe Sat 16 September – Cadwell Park Sun 17 September – Harewood The Championship regs are nearing completion and these will appear on Competitors Korner in due course. The best 7 scores will count towards the championship but if people only want to do 2 or 3 there still welcome to enter. For the novice and ladies championships the best 5 scores will count. Competitor registration forms will hopefully appear in February's issue of Lowflying and the entry fee is being kept at £15. I look forward to meeting up with you again in the near future Mark D Comp Sec

Mike Bees
What a fantastic looking championship, very well done. Although... with 6 events over 5 consecutive weekends in July/Aug and another 5 events over 4 consecutive weekends in Aug/Sep I can hear the divorce lawyers sharpening their pencils and thumbing through their Demon Tweeks catalogues 😬 Mike
robmar
so in how many of those divorce cases wiill Mr Durrants name appear 😬 this is why it is good that we have only 7 best scores to count, so in reality you don't have to do every round during the busy period... I have earmarked 10 events I want to try and attend rob
Gambo
😬Well I'll be going to at least one. 😬 Looks a good season Mark. Hopefully I'll make at least 5 this year. RED 2.0 HPC now on throttle bodies

Mike Bees
so in reality you don't have to do every round during the busy period... Hmm, that's not the same sort of reality that kicks in whilst you're wandering aimlessly around the garden centre, or taking stuff to the tip, or "having a nice lunch together" whilst thinking about all the fun your comrades are having at Shelsley/MIRA/Loton/Cadwell/Harewood etc... Support Team Shaun_E Posted January 11, 2006 Support Team Share Posted January 11, 2006 Can someone tell me or point me in the right direction of how to find where all these places are? I thought I had seen the answer somewhere on here but a search didn't come up with the right thread. I have my licence application on my desk in an envelope ready to go and hopefully will be campaigning in the novice category (class 5 though ). Now need to plan which events to attend as I live in the South. Yellow SL #

robmar
as for which events to do obviously the closest to you is Longcross, but it isn't for the faint hearted, it is superb tho but maybe not the best place for your first event...however as it is close it may be too good to miss try and do at least one curbourgh, just because we got here a lot and is well supported, probably either(or both) llandow or MIRA, as these are good venues for novices as there isn't anything really bad going to happen, and at least one of the hillclimbs as it is a slightly different expereince... all IMO of course after your first event you will be hooked and you will be workign out how to do the other 13 rounds, and what the impact to your bank balance and bownie points will be rob
DSL
I did longcross as my first ever sprint event last year, seamed a resonable place to start your sprinting career to me. Simon.Rogers1
*thumbup* Excellent guys. But Rob and Mr Butty should remember that the locations could also read like this. Sun 23 April – Longcrossright arrownear chobham in surry - soooo farrr away Sun 30 April - Llandow (Trackday on 29)(Organiser – Richard Gambling)right arrow just west of cardiff - getting warmer Sat 20 May – Curborough 1 right arrow near litchfield - still a long way Sun 21 May – Curborough (Marshalls Sprint – not a championship event) Sat 1 July – Shelsey Walsh right arrow north west of worcester - warm but not as warm as Llandow Sat 8 July – Pembrey 1 right arrow far south west wales - absolutely scorching 10 min down the road Sun 9 July – Pembrey 2 Sat 15 July – Longcross 2 Sat 29 July - Loton Park right arrow near shewsbury - Good Sat 5 August – MIRA right arrow nuneaton -Compared to some this seems Ok Sat 26 August – Curborough (Marshalls Sprint– not a championship event) Sun 27 August – Curborough2 Sat 2 September – Aintree right arrow liverpool - just a pitty its on top of L'pool Sat 9 September – Wiscombe right arrow south devon - at least I turn right after crossing the bridge Sat 16 September – Cadwell Park right arrow louth, linconshire - Just has to be done though doesn't it Sun 17 September – Harewood right arrow north leeds - other end of the earth Buy the way Mark it should'nt be a problem if I try to arrange some local sponsers for our class at Pembrey for both dates - (I am eying up some of my suppliers) should it? Mrs Kipper
Mark I am being a bit of a numpty this morning Am I right in thinking that Pembrey is two separate events with points to count for each so we don't have to do both days if we don't want to 🤔 Kipper Fun is not a straight line.
