Myles
I was under the impression that it is retained by a nut on the inside - I may be wrong as I've never fitted one, just fiddled with the one on my engine. If this is the case, then there ain't a thread - just plug it somehow. Even if yours was/is threaded, it's a potential solution. Project Scope-Creep is live... david nelson
Mat The early fitted apollos were taped and the later ones had a nut. You will need to check that there is no nut in the cam cover. Not sure of the thread as this is still one of the jobs i need to do. David
Rob Walker
The male nipple should be fixed with a lock nut on the inside of the cam cover, just replace with a nut and bolt.
davef
Mine is located by a nut loctited in place. Make sure you loctite your replacement nut/bolt if you go this route - a stray nut in the valve train wouldn't be pretty.... Dave
Tony Whitley
Good excuse for an upgrade though 😬
Mick Day
Just a thought: if the hole is tapped why not seal it with a nice set screw from the outside. If it isn't tapped why not tap it etc. If relying on a nut & bolt just make sure the nut is on the outside.
