caterhamnut
We need to get out injectors checked, cleaned and maybe replaced on our 1.6 k-series SS, as we reckon these may be the source of a vibration/missfiring issue. They are standard 'beige' ones. Mark has some injectors on his workbench, which we want to briefly swap in to see if it makes a difference, and maybe still be able to use the car while we get the others checked, but we are not sure if they are suitable - this is the info Mark could remember: Bosche 803's, green 370cc @ '3 bar' (not sure about that last figure) ...will these be ok to drop in? www.mycaterham.com here 88,500 miles -1st 1.6k Supersport, '95 Motor Show car Edited by - angus&tessa on 5 Jan 2006 15:01:

caterhamnut
Cheers Oily - too big even for a quick try, just to see if the vibration stops? I guess so! many thanks www.mycaterham.com here 88,500 miles -1st 1.6k Supersport, '95 Motor Show car
Allen Payne
I've a set of blue ones, but I guess those would be too small?
caterhamnut
Not sure on the colour codes Allen - I'm can pick up some other beige ones at the weekend - but thanks for the offer anyway www.mycaterham.com here 88,500 miles -1st 1.6k Supersport, '95 Motor Show car
Mike Bees
IIRC the 803s are low impedance (4 ohm) so it won't do your ECU (which expects high impedance 16 ohm injectors) a whole lot of good... As Oily indicates, with nearly 60% overfuelling I don't think it would prove much anyway. Mike

Rob Walker
Angus why not just take them to your local Bosch service agent and have them ultrasonically cleaned and flow checked cost is around £60 or get down the local scrap yard.
caterhamnut
Rob - I will be doing that anyway, although those costs are dangerously close to a set of new ones! Just want to pop some others in to confirm if our vibration/miss issue is indeed caused by the injectors - borrowing some at the weekend - if it is them, we'll get ours cleaned or replaced www.mycaterham.com here 88,500 miles -1st 1.6k Supersport, '95 Motor Show car
