vx bellhousing

is the input shaft on the gearbox of vx 2.0 16v with integeral oil tank longer than one with standard bellhousing if so what sort of job would it be to fit quaife 4 speed with standard bellhousing with seperate oil tank ie would the gear lever be in the same position would the engine and box go far enough back (help)

If I understand the first part of your question correctly, then the answer is no. I have just dumped the integral bellhousing and converted to std belhousing for my Vx. I use a cat 6 speed box which is using the same input shaft for both. As to your query about the gear lever, I cannot see a problem as long as the quaife item is based on the model you are replacing it for. If the input shafts are the same then the box/lever will be in the same position.
