cleansing a contaminated block/oil system

now that I've got the new head back (thanks to Chris W and Antonio), I need to put the head back on.

I've drained the system as much as I can - drained the oil pipes etc. I know there will be dregs of emulsified water/oil in the system.

What's the best way of making sure everything is completely clean ...head off or on?(I've bought plenty of flushing oil)...is there a recommneded sequence?

it's now been six months 'sans 7' any advice is appreciated *thumbup*

I wash blocks and oilways with a mixture of Gunk and parraffin. You need an airline to blow through the oilways and get the gunk out of the out-of-way corners.

A good soaking, drain and wipe off excess then blow oilways and blow dry as best possible. Use lint free cloth to wipe dry.
