Myles
Any idea of cost? I have a k-series prop that I replaced at around 5k miles as it caused vibration above 80mph. The front UJ had one pivot that didn't pivot smoothly throughout its arc. It cost me something like £130-160 delivered to get a new one, so if it's worthwhile refurbing and selling...??? Mr Locust
Malcolm, IIRC there are only a limited number of sizes of universal joint spiders/yokes and the increments are sufficiently large that you are unlikely to get it wrong (generally available with or without grease hole). Take it to a bearing factor if the motor factors aren't too helpful. Use suitably sized sockets and a vice to press out the caps and insert the replacements. If the cap has been rotating in the yoke (telltale shininess behind the circlip/v.easily removed), the joint is scrap - don't bother even getting an overhaul kit.
