Safety related experiences FAQ

Hi Barry,

There has been quite a bit of interest to have some easily accessible source of information, maybe including photo's, of problems people have experienced with their cars - Tech Talk Mon 5th Dec 2006.

Any thoughts?

Well Barry

You really are getting people to use the forums fully.

You are absolutely right to emphasise the need to be very straight forward and simply factual.

If you intervene / consolidate / composite the information I think it would be valauble to add some statistics (such as they are available) or guides to numbers to keep a proper proportion to the information. This should be a bit like an H+SE Risk Assessment. For example the propshaft failure is very alarming and rates high in the level of hazzard, in that terrible damage could have been done to the occupants of the car but the likelihood of the hazzard occuring is low (one ?two? known failure in X thousand cars). Very different to the head gasket or CRB problems which are low hazzard level (except to the wallet) but the likelihood of occurence is considerably higher.

I think that this would also be important in relation to Caterham Cars attitude to these pages.
