Steve Robinson
Have replced my de-dion tube as it is showing the signs of cracking around the mountings for the dampers. Anyone who wants to come to South Beds and collect my old one can have it free of charge to save me a trip to the dump! Just Blatmail me.... Englishmaninwales
I racked my brains, but I must admit I cannot think of a use for a broken secondhand DeDion tube......... . Possibly for beating the car to death when it won't work? Any ideas? (and have a BTTT on me Malcolm
Steve Robinson
You could use it as a very large spud gun I guess. 2 thoughts. The small crack that has appeared is on the bracket at the top of the tube where you bolt the suspension in, but I believe that still leaves the option of bolting straight into the tube for some cars, so it would be fine for that. Other thought is that some may feel it is weldable, but i've no idea what can or can't be achieved so thought I would offer it up just in case. Steve Robinson
Now sold (or more accurately given away), so keep your eye out for someone in a caterham with a bag of spuds and an evil grin on his face. Steve
DohNut
Steve - I knew you were a salesman but that was impressive. Now see what you can do with those previously enjoyed super lightweight rear brake pads that came off your car 😬 Nick
