The long input shaft is 208mm from the main front face of the gearbox to the tip of the shaft.

I need one that is 176 mm.

This will allow me to remove the alloy spacer I have between the bell housing and gearbox.

unfortunately mine measures 176-178mm from front face of the cover (i.e. the shiny bit).

Dimension from the main face is close to your 206mm . ☹️

 

Hence mine is categorically a long nosed gearbox so Andy is still looking

Has anyone ever had one machined down to make it work??

is the steel case hardened and will shell off or is it good enough to stand the modifications??
