Robster
I'm about to time in a new cam...I have my dial gauge ready, max lift after TDC figure ready...but which way does the engine rotate? The car is now oil-less and on blocks, so I can't turn the back wheels in gear! Once I know the direction of rotation, the max lift figure is so many degrees after TDC in the direction of normal rotation...?? Thanks!biggrin.gif
oilyhands
Most four stroke engines rotate clockwise as viewed from the front and the xflow is no exception. Full lift on inlet valve number one will be at nnn degrees ATDC on the non firing stroke of cylinder one in the normal direction of rotation.
