Replacing a windscreen - Help ! anyone

Jay Bee -

Try having two people around for the initial lifting bits - it's more controlled that way

Before starting put a blanket / towel on teh bonnet to land the old (and then the new) screen on.

Not ALL cars have the bullet connectors. . After undoing the nuts and lifting the screen up, SLOWLY pull the (green ?) wires thru. You should pull a bullet connector thru - don't worry if you don't though. Just cut the wire and crimp a pair of bullet connectors on to tthe old wire and new screen wires.

Other postings above give rest of advice I think you need.

(Alternatively get RAC Autowindscreens to do it for you?)

This is a real numpty thing and may not be applicable if you're not using new stanchions but when I put my new windscreen on I managed to crack the new windscreen by tightening the stanchion bolts too much.

When i say "I" i'm actually sparing the blushes of a more respected member of the BC fraternity who undertook this and no we didn't tighten the bolts that hard or so it seemed !
