Paul Turner
Anorak fact of the day, checked in one of my ancient manuals last evening and the rear mount on a Anglia 123E (1200 cc super with 4 syncro box) is visually the same as the Caterham mount. Pierre Gillet
"Anorak fact of the day" Please help me! What does it mean? I checked into my English-French dictionnary, and Anorak really means Anorak, which means a sport jacket for climbing mountain etc... oilyhands
'Anorak' is a term used to describe the type of person who is obsessed by trivia and minutae, the type who would be happy train spotting or collecting a complete set of all the possible corn flake packets available from one date to another. These are typified and indentified by their 'sensible' choice of clothing.. the anorak.. nowadays nobody but an 'Anorak' would be seen dead wearing one. Fast Westie
Paul Are you sure the 1200cc Anglia had a 4 syncho box? My 997cc one only had 3 synchros - mmm double declutching into first on the move! The car in front is a Westfie1d wink.gif
Pierre Gillet
Thank you very much Oilyhands. It is good to know what it really means now that I am not an Anorak anymore! My best Regards, Pierre
Paul Turner
Fast Westie In my youth I had the pleasure of owning both the 997 and 1200 (+ a 997 with a 1500 pre x-fow) and you are correct, the 997 had a 3 syncro box but the 1200 used a 4 syncro variant.
