Tim Broyd
Does anyone know if a plug is available with an 'external' hex head, rather than the 'internal' hex head as supplied? It would be so much easier to be able to use an open-ended spanner rather than a cut-down allen key. Thanks Tim B
Mick Day
The trick is don't do it up too tight, or if you do put a piece of pipe over the allen key. If you take the plug to a nut & bolt store they'll probably be able to supply something; but I bet you'll have to shorten it 😬
Mike Bees
Be aware that it's a tapered plug. Mike
Andy Doughty
I think the cheap way (if you have access to a welder) is to find a bolt with a head that fits the plug then drill a hole through the end of a piece of flat bar and weld it on. It make a cheap slim spanner.
Slipper man
A piece of 10mm allen key plus a Halfords 10 mm ratchet spanner makes it quite easy
shn7
Tim, Follow slipperman's advice. Cut a short straight length off a std. 90 degree allen key. Pop one end into the drain plug. Put a 10mm ratchet spanner over the end and robert's your dad's brother 😬. Steve.
