Inertia switch

Big Brother

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for an inertia switch to fit to my car.

Its old so has never been fitted with one before (I don't think they had been invented when my car was made *wink*)

I'm about to fit an electric fuel pump so now seems like a good time to fit one.

I'm planning to fit it on the inside of the bulkhead (as opposed to the engine side)

My reasoning is that it will be easier to reset if it gets triggered accidentally. Any thoughts on doing this?

So - do you racing people have any sitting on your shelves you want to part with - or do I need to go to the scrappy and start looking for 214/216's again?

I know of one ex-Academy car (01, same year as mine) with the inertia-switch mounted on the dash. Theory is that if you spin it into the rough stuff - or otherwise visit the scenery but need to be able to restart the car if fire is not an issue - then you can reset it there and then.

FWIW, I triggered mine last week... It does the job... *smile*
