Right angle speedo drive (4-speed)

Sports, Rockets and 5 speeds all have the same speedo cable fitting and the right angle drive fits all three. The speedo cable for a 5 speed is threaded at both ends, the sport cable has a thread at one end only, this will not fit onto a right angle drive but will fit directly onto a rocket box.

Just consulted someone who is 'in the know'.

He said the following: " MT75 is electronic, the type 9 in circlipped and the rocket is screw on"

So, they do not fit ?!?

Ao ... *sigh* ... back to the original question: does ANYone have a speedo-angle-drive for a rocket box for sale?

If not, what's the best place to contact for a new one, what's the usual price tag, etc. ??

Cheers! - Karsten

I agree with Paul, the rocket box is just a different set of ratios in one of the standard ford four speed boxes. It uses the same circlip fitted speedo cable as both of the standard Ford four speed boxes and the five speed type 9 box. The right angle drive-box that fits any one of these 3 types of gearboxes will fit the others.

The MT75 is a different kettle of fish and may well have a completely different fixing but won't fit a caterham so who cares?

So far as I know no recent (since 1970) Ford gearbox that has been fitted to a caterham has a speedo cable that screws direct to the gearbox.
