John Whyman Posted December 8, 2001 Share Posted December 8, 2001 I lost both bolts at the same time today from the V shaped retainer for the accelerator cable on the 40 DCOE's on my X/Flow Supersprint. Can anyone tell me the bolt size and thread for these little horrors. They appear to be about 6mm, but not sure if metric, Whit or whatever. Help appreciated, need a fix for tomorrow. Robster Posted December 8, 2001 Share Posted December 8, 2001 Same happened to me last year, doing about 120mph on the finishing straight at the nurburgring! 'twang'...then no throttle! They are an M5, the same as the bolts holding the carb covers on. They replace one of the carb cover bolts underneath on each carb. As a temporary fix, take one of the bolts from the top cover of each carb and use these. I replaced them with allen key bolts, as they are a lot easier to tighten in the akward space.
